Heavy Metal The Sword – The Veil of Isis

Come to the Nerd Side with the The Sword

Despite what you might think, it’s not all doom and gloom in the metal world all the time. No! sometimes (okay most of the time) us metalheads like to geek out a bit, roll up our sleeves and start tossing those twelve sided dice.

Take Austin-based band The Sword for example. These dudes are four albums in and are still laying down some serious Sabbath inspired jams that are totally perfect for a late night D&D session or WoW raid. Check out their new video for “Veil of Isis” which is on the recently released LP “Apocryphon”….

What’s even going on in this video? I have no clue, this girl takes some sort of hallucinogenic hockey puck that lets her transcend space and time. I’m sure The Sword were on something themselves when they came up with this idea. Anyways, the song is pretty rad. And if you dig The Sword be sure to check out their back catalogue, especially Gods of the Earth, their second record which I feel was a high water mark for these dudes.
